In oil production, this value serves as an important indicator to measure the stability of oil products. In some chemical production processes (such as long chain alkylation reactions), it can also be used to roughly estimate the conversion rate of products.

The SH0630 automatic bromine index analyzer adopts the principle of microcoulometric titration (coulometric method).
